Hello spooky season! In the past, IIXIIST has been all about big, bad and bold Halloween costumes. But like our latest collections, this year, we are doing Halloween a little differently. One of our #iixiigirls asked, "how can I do Halloween but make it sustainable?", which led us to write our next blog: three tips to a more sustainable Halloween.Scare your friends, but don't scare the planet.Happy Halloween, iixiigirls!
1. Hit your local Thrift Shop.
You know what they say, one mans trash (or previously owned Halloween costume) is another mans treasure. We are big fans of thrifting here at IIXIIST. From vintage boots to killer skirts, we've found it all. So, if you want to look like Kendall as Buttercup, head to your local thrift store and get thrifting - we promise you'll find some goodies. As for the bikini, we have the perfect one.
2. Shop smart, not fast.
We know you can’t wear your Halloween costume on the reg, but if you need to purchase a piece of clothing to make your Halloween costume fire, do it smart, not fast, and buy something that you can repurpose. For example, need a one-piece to look like Kylie as a playboy bunny? Have you seen our
Sammy bodysuit? Perfect for Halloween and that post-covid summer vacation ;)
3. Say no to individually wrapped candy.
It’s Halloween, treat your self to some damn candy, but be kind to the planet and don’t buy anything individually wrapped. Why not get creative in the kitchen and make something instead? Our Halloween go-to is: Dark Chocolate Halloween Cookies
